Portable Floodwater Removal Pump
Lightweight high-capacity pumping system for rapid floodwater extraction from confined spaces, basements, and remote locations without vehicle access
The Portable Floodwater Removal Pump is a compact, high-output dewatering unit engineered for rapid deployment in environments where larger trailer-mounted systems cannot be positioned. Weighing 28 kg, the unit can be carried by a single operator through doorways, up staircases, and into confined spaces. The pump delivers 300 m³/h at 18 meters of head, capable of clearing standing water from basements, underground car parks, service shafts, and utility vaults. The unit features a gasoline engine with recoil start, a self-priming centrifugal pump, and a quick-coupling 100 mm discharge outlet. The pump handles solids up to 50 mm, reducing the need for pre-screening in debris-laden floodwater. An integrated carry frame with rubber feet provides stable positioning on uneven surfaces and protects the pump casing during transport. The system is supplied with a 5-meter suction hose and a 10-meter discharge hose as standard.
Yes. At 28 kg dry, the unit is designed for single-operator carry using the integrated frame. The weight is balanced around the central lift point, and the frame provides clearance for doorways and stairwells. Setup involves connecting the suction and discharge hoses, priming the pump chamber, and starting the engine. Total time from arrival to pumping is under 2 minutes.
The pump passes solids up to 50 mm through the impeller and discharge outlet. This covers typical floodwater debris including sand, gravel, small stones, and organic material. For sites with larger debris or heavy sediment loads, a basket strainer with 60 mm openings is available as an optional accessory. The wear ring in the pump casing protects the impeller from abrasive particles.
The 3.6-liter fuel tank provides approximately 2.5 hours of continuous operation at full load. At reduced flow or intermittent operation, runtime extends to 3.5-4 hours. The engine can be refueled during operation without stopping the pump, provided appropriate safety precautions are observed. For extended dewatering operations, multiple refueling cycles are possible.
The pump features a mechanical seal designed to withstand dry running for extended periods without damage. This allows the operator to leave the pump running while water levels fluctuate, without risk of seal failure. However, continuous dry running above 30 minutes is not recommended as it accelerates wear on the seal faces. The pump self-primes automatically when water becomes available again.
After each deployment, flush the pump casing and hoses with clean water to remove sediment and debris. Inspect the suction strainer and clean as needed. Check the impeller and wear ring for erosion. Verify engine oil level and top up as required. Clean the air filter. For units in standby, run the engine for 10 minutes monthly to maintain battery charge and circulate lubricants.
